And he gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints,
for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ;
Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure
of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
for the work of the ministry.
That we be no more children, tossed to
and fro, and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men,
and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie
in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may
grow up into him in all things, which is
the head, even Christ:
From Whom the whole body fitly joined
together and compacted by that which
every joint supplieth, according to the
effectual working in the measure of
every part, maketh increase of the body
unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:11-16
Preaching & Teaching
- Morning Worship on Sunday Mornings @ 9:30 a.m.
- Adult Bible Fellowship (Sunday School) on Sunday Mornings @ 11:00 a.m.
Seven adult Sunday school classes meet throughout the building. Classes are divided by approximate age (College-30 yrs, under 40 yrs, 40-60 yrs, etc). There is also a ladies class. Come enjoy the Bible study, fellowship, and accountability that these small-group settings provide. Many Sunday school classes plan their own off-site fellowships and activities.
- Evening Worship on Sunday evenings @ 6:00 p.m.
- Prayer Meeting on Wednesdays @ 7 p.m.
Fellowship & Discipleship
- Men’s Prayer Breakfast on the first Saturday of every month (7:30 a.m.)
This time is designed for men to enjoy good food and encourage others with what they are learning from God’s Word. This breakfast is held at the church on the first Saturday of each month and usually lasts about an hour and a half.
- Sunday School Class Fellowships are organized periodically and take place both on and off the church site.
- Dinner 8 Fellowships get together for a time a food and fellowship – once a month (during June, July and August).
Looking for a great way to apply the lessons on the “one another” passages of Scripture? Try Dinner 8! The program runs during June, July and August and it’s a good way to “plan fellowship” and get to know each other better. The program is designed for couples, so if you are single, find a partner and join in the fellowship!
- Discipleship through adult Bible fellowship time and through one-on-one or small group studies.

Host Teen Fellowship Take the opportunity to be a blessing to the teenagers and youth staff by hosting a teen SNAP either at your home or at the church.
Greeter / Usher Being greeted with a smile on Sunday mornings can go a long way in making guests and members feel welcomed. Our greeters and ushers play a pivotal role in welcoming guests, directing them to child care, if needed, and introducing them to other members of the congregation.
Junior Day Camp Our adults and teens play a valuable role in helping this week run smoothly. Helping with registration, game time, crafts, counseling children, and set-up/tear-down are all ways in which our church family can help with junior day camp.
Kids4Truth Clubs A children’s ministry such as Kids4Truth is an excellent way to ‘suffer the little children to come to Christ” (Matthew 19:14) and relies heavily on prayer and the help of many like-minded adults to provide an organized, safe environment through which we can minister to children. Church-member volunteers can help run games, registration, listen to Bible memory verses, teach Bible lessons, or assist van drivers.

Plowing Sidewalks It wouldn’t be winter without some snow! Sign-up to be on a team that comes in early to shovel and salt sidewalks.
Shut-in Visits Take a few minutes to encourage a member, who can not often make it to church, through a phone call or a home visit.
S.O.S. (Service on Saturdays) 1 Peter 4:7-11 encourages us to serve one another. We can glorify our Lord through the stewardship of the gifts He has given to us. When our deacons become aware of needs in the church that involve home repairs, yardwork, or even transportation, would you be willing to set apart a particular Saturday or perhaps a regularly scheduled Saturday for serving others with your God-given handyman skill?
Technical Ministry Do you enjoy using audio / visual equipment or working behind the scenes to ensure that a service runs smoothly? Volunteers in the CBC tech ministry play an important role in our worship services. Tech-savvy or not, teens and adults are encouraged to consider this ministry as a way to serve others. Ministry tech leaders will happily train you.
Van Driver Calvary’s van ministry gives a wonderful opportunity to reach children in our community with the gospel. Vans run on Wednesday evenings for our Kids4Truth program. Vans pick up children between 6:15-6:45 p.m. and drop them off between 8:25-8:45 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend with their children; they are also invited to the adults in the auditorium.
Work Days provide the perfect opportunity for many to use their time to beautify the church grounds. Works days are usually from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on designated Saturdays. Enjoy the fellowship of working together with other believers. Lunch is usually provided.

When asked by a religious leader about the greatest commandment, Christ responded with this: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:34-40)
Many passages in the New Testament reiterate the truth that Christ’s children (Christians) should use their gifts to serve others, especially within the local church. Calvary Baptist Church has many outlets through which members can hear God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, and serve.
